However, my heart is super broken. I have a lot of difficulty even getting out of bed in the morning (and I am healthy and able bodied). This has done a number on me. I think most of all my ego and pride hurts from being rejected, even though I should feel blessed to have those toxic people leave me. Thankfully none have hovered back. Ambrose of Milan (Latin: Aurelius Ambrosius; c. 340 – 397), venerated as Saint Ambrose, was the Bishop of Milan, a theologian, and one of the most influential ecclesiastical figures of the 4th century.. Ambrose was serving as the Roman governor of Aemilia-Liguria in Milan when he was unexpectedly made Bishop of Milan in 374 by popular acclamation. As bishop, he took a firm position against ... First of all, let me say about the role of Gun. I was glad that in this series they didn't make Gun's role as the typical non-good-looking character (e.g. LBC in which everyone pointed out how plain and ugly he was); and instead he played for once a confident role. Even though I liked Gun's role, I didn't like his acting that much. All women are different---you can't make the assumption that they would all like or dislike the same thing. 2021.10.20 17:00 sparxtheknight Team-building Tactics (AKA Solo Tactical RPG combat + Deckbuilding) Brainstorming

Introduction: The title above is something I've been considering for a while now. As a character designer and, hopefully, board game designer in the future (A way to implement my illustrations into a story) I have always been intrigued how designers take existing concepts and abstract them into creative ways. It should be noted that I am a solo game enthusiast and although I do enjoy multiplayer games like Gloomhaven: JotL, Too Many Bones, Descent, Arcadia Quest, Skytear, etc. (My recent favorites) the pandemic of recent year has really awoken me to the drive not only to create something in my spare time but also to have something to share with solo game enthusiasts as myself.
The TLDR is this question: Would a scenario driven game, in the style of something akin to Mice and Mystics, Jaws of the Lion, etc. work with the player controlling 1-3 individual characters sharing a single deck of cards? Assigning actions to each hero each turn with a dwindling deck of cards that limits their options over the course of the encounter with ways of upgrading hero cards, item and loot cards to add tactics and extra options. All while trying to complete a scenario objective before either running out of HP for the heroes (loss of morale) or running out of cards (exhaustion, expending all resources).
I sort of toyed with the idea last night (and off and on for a few years but never really trying to pen it down until yesterday) and had my imagination run wild with some ideas...
The encounter will set out in a book with the battle mat/"dungeon" made up of square grids (similar to a large room in Descent/Imperial Assault) with orthogonal movement. There will be icons on the grids to show locations of enemy spawns, player starting positions, item chests, secrets to interact with and "points of interests" that progress the encounter (usually in an Act I/Act II style of progression)
At it's core the enemies will have AI behavior similar to the monsters in a game such as "Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival" with their HP, combat information, illustration and skill lists on their own individual card with a front/back side determining if it is a normal enemy or an archmonsteelite/lieutenant variant (For those unfamiliar, you roll a certain number of d6 to determine enemy behavior across several possible actions; with certain bosses having ways off adding or reducing the dice added to their turn. So one monster, for example, has "deal 3 damage to closest hero" on a dice roll of [1-4], "heal 2 and deal 3 damage to farthest hero" on [5-6] and "gain 2 shields and poison to two nearest heroes" on [7-12]. These are just samples but the intensity and severity of the actions will vary based on scenario difficulty and monster class)
Heroes however will all share a deck of 24 cards (tentative number pulled out the rear) and have 8 cards assigned to each hero (from an initial pool of 10 cards per hero). At the start of a scenario, players will begin on designated starting locations, draw 7 cards from the deck and do their best to survive, defeat the enemies or accomplish their goal, all the while attempting to collect treasure coffers tucked away in oh-so-convenient locations and trying their best to complete a randomly drawn challenge to increase end of scenario loot bonuses (survive with 2 or less HP, never run out of cards, don't use items, keep all allies 3 tiles away from each other, etc.)
How the game would flow (in my mind at least) is you determine in any order which hero will act, but once a hero activates they must choose 2 cards to use. It could be their own special, cool power or a generic action such as moving X number of tiles, performing a basic attack, or setting up defense to mitigate damage. Once two cards are used by each hero they are placed in a discard pile (with some more powerful cards being used once and out for the rest of the scenario) and the hand is refilled to 7 cards again...with the enemies on the board performing their actions (although enemies actions are random, they all have "common" results that may shift depending on their HP, conditional effects, etc
(I'm debating on cards having passive and active conditions as well. Ex. using a card to "block" an attack if they have a shield relic, having a card serve as a "battery" for other skills to empower and have a chance of increased bonuses if they hold a magical stave relic, cards being set as traps/buffs that are persistent until triggered, etc.)
My issue currently {which I know will require more testing} is how to resolve running low on cards. I know Gloomhaven has the rest/recover mechanic but that is on an individual per-hero basis, and the timer adds tension to the scenario, which I thoroughly enjoy. I'm debating on:

I'm not one of those players that detests RNG, I actually embrace it. When I play RPGs I gravitate towards Gambler, Assassin and in-your-face types of classes and characters. But I understand not everyone wants to have the game decided on a bad draw or just pure luck (I would definitely implement items/accessories/skills that could be purchased to recover cards, increase hand sizes, allow mulligans, scrying the deck, etc)
That said I love how each skill in games like Too Many Bones does something cool, even though you most likely will only use it once per encounter. I love how Gloomhaven has carefully crafted skills that have multiple options and you have to make tough choices when cards run low. I really appreciate the deck-building strategy Skytear offers to simulate MOBA combat and how each unit feels like its own cog in a wheel instead of just one unit stealing the spotlight (usually). But I also love solo tactics and rolling dice and building varying strategies.
At it's core its simply a Tactics Strategy mini-skirmish with the player answering various questions before, during and after the battle: Which units should I bring in this specific scenario and what skills to equip? I'm about to go to a town after this chapter, should I go for the loot that's surrounded by a mini-boss or revisit this scenario later (at a higher difficulty or solo) to reattempt it? Is it worth the trouble to complete this challenge anyways? Should I have all allies bring healing skills for insurance or should I make sure one ally is the support, using their cards as "basic actions" when my team is topped off so my other heroes can use their offensive skills and carry? Should I bring this hero this encounter to level them up (draw 2 cards from their spell-book deck) and give them more options or are they strong enough already?
I DO want each skill to be impactful and meaningful in some way (with some room for niche strategies) even if each hero only acquires 20 or so new skills across the entire campaign (starting at 10). One character, the Lich Cleric, has an array of healing, disabling, debuffing and aura AOE abilities, being played in the roles of a damage+support hybrid, self-sustaining tank or a debuffing supporter. Off top right now in personal testing, she can: Deal damage to a target and apply a debuff to the enemy where allies deal increased damage to the target for a turn, Drains HP around her, Weakens enemies around her and gains a Shield for each enemy hit, Moves through units for a turn and gains untargetable for one round, dispels an enemies shields and causes them to take increased damage for a turn, places a wisp on the arena that heals allies at the start of the round, pushes units around her and weakens them, prevents all units for using melee attacks for a turn, swaps weaken state with empowered state [vice versa], and summons a powerful skeleton soldier that requires an action card to keep it animated each turn, etc.)
Conclusion: If anything, I would love to see if this has potential or if there is something that has done something similar (or better). At the end of the day, I have a fun and colorful cast of characters I have been illustrating and crafting a story around since November last year and I really want them to exist in a tabletop form in someway but I am COMPLETELY open to revisiting ideas and changing things up...I've been doing this for some time. I always dreamed of drawing characters and making a board game since I first played Super Dungeon Explore about 6 years ago...and since then I have been hooked on tactical skirmish and dungeon crawler board games. Even if I don't publish anything officially, I would love to just have something near completion on the table to say "I did this. I created this. It was tough but man...this is something I can be proud of".
(Quick side note: My story is a colorful homage to JRPGs, saturday morning action cartoons and final fantasy tactics. My cast includes a traveling merc with a magical star medal (a cowboy in a jrpg, a succubus that uses her charm to be a sword-wielding tank, a lich cleric that collects the spirits of old heroes and sings haunting and soothing hymms, a goblin assassin with a sentient robe that holds her loot and daggers so she keeps her hands clean, a big chunky dragon that breaths ice and loves to protect her friends and keep them warm with magical meals, an alchemist gone bandit that uses a love for science and the arcane to craft all sorts of operations and plans heists, and an elven mage magician that is gifted in all sorts of magic and abilities but has the survivability of a paper plate in a picnic during a storm. Each of them would have mechanics thematic to their "class" but also have their personality shine through their abilities))

2021.10.20 17:00 Sure_Reference5495 North, East, South, West Park entrance signs.

Hey, In a park near me there are 4 different entrances (1 on each side) the main entrance with a big sign is already a pokestop but the 3 other smaller signs with a path entering into the park are not. All 3 other signs have a small path leading into the park with a small bridge on each. Would it be worth it to try nominating these? Would it be likely to get accepted?

2021.10.20 17:00 igottapoopbad What is your favorite all natural shampoo for long coarse and somewhat frizzy hair?

Hello all,
I'm looking for an all-natural 1-2x weekly shampoo for long, coarse, thick hair. Caucasian/middle eastern decent for context.
Have trouble with extreme fizz and hair not really sticking well together after showers, general unkempt-iness. I'd like something that doesn't strip all of my natural oils but does work well for cleaning dirt/grime/etc buildup. For example, I get crazy stray strands via ponytail/bun the day after I shampoo that are super annoying.
Thanks in advance!

2021.10.20 17:00 melwah2 Some deadly ideas

  1. Let us buy poison in the game and poison people like how a lot of states have done to political opponents
  2. Add more accidents to the game, if we work as a builder there should be a risk of dying due to falling down
  3. Add assassinations to the game
  4. Let us join terror groups in the game or infiltrate them as a police
  5. Add intelligence agencies to the game and let us infiltrate political parties, religious extremists etc
  6. Let us buy guns in the game
